Colorado Alternative Medicine Review

If Colorado Alternative Medicine's catchy logo design "CAM," easily viewable from a crowded section Broadway Ave., doesn't bring you in to visit the caregivers at Colorado Alternative Medicine for your medical marijuana needs, their wide variety of medical marijuana strains and occasional specials will likely catch the attention of Colorado MMJ patients.

Colorado Alternative Wellness is one of several Denver medical marijuana dispensaries located excellent locations on Broadway Ave. in Southwest Denver.  Colorado Alternative Wellness occupies a slightly nicer than usual building than most Denver medical marijuana dispensaries. If is you're first time there expect to spend 15 - 30 minutes for the staff at CAM to copy and process your paperwork. While you're waiting you will surly notice that the front, reception/waiting area is a bit tight. With very little reading material, no TV in the, and often a bit crowded in the waiting room, entering and waiting in the front entrance is not nearly as comfortable of an environment than some other Denver dispensaries located nearby, such as Broadway Wellness and the prices of medical marijuana at Colorado Alternative Medication can't compete with THC - The Herbal Center, which is one of Colorado Alternative Medication's neighboring dispensaries and ranks among my favorite medical marijuana clinics in Denver.

Of course, while important to some, the comfortably of the waiting room is not of primary concern to most medical marijuana patients when shopping around for a quality marijuana dispensary. What is of primary concern to most is the quantity and quality of strains, hashes, edibles and other MMJ meds. And once you've gotten past the waiting room, it's not half bad. Once you're admitted to the back, or "the buds room" the feel of the of the joint, no pun intended, is drastically better. Here you're greeted with comfortable couches, quality Cannabis magazines of Colorado and a large flat screen TV. So you can relax in comfort while you're waiting you're turn, that is, after they've run your paperwork and granted you admission to the inner dispensary.

As you enter the back service area, where all the herbal medication is kept, you will approach a triangular counter on which their different strains of bud and other herbal remedies are displayed. One of the nicest things about CAM is that they have all of their indica strains displayed on one angle of the triangular counter-top and their Sativa strains on the other wing of the counter. This organization makes it extremely easy to find particular buds with the medical qualities that will help the condition(s) with which you suffer and seek herbal meds as a remedy. Or, it just makes it very easy to pick the right kind of bud for the right kind of high that you enjoy or are just plain craving.

Aside from the strait buds, with the mission of promoting a holistic approach to healing and living, CAM offers other natural health care services as well. CAM goods and services include but are not limited to the following:
  • Medical Marijuana Edibles
  • Tinctures
  • Marijuana Seeds
  • clones
  • Hash
  • Potent High Concentrates
On the Colorado Alternative Medicine website they again have their marijuana strains classified as either Sativa dominant or Indica dominant. Under Sativa they have listed the following strains:
  • Cough
  • Diesel x Big Bud
  • NYC Diesel
  • OG Kush
  • Blue Dream
  • Bio Diesel
  • Headband
  • Diesel
  • Blue Dream #2
  • Mandarin Haze
  • Power Plant
  • Lemon Haze
  • Juliet
  • White Widow x Blueberry
  • Blueberry
CAM offers a slightly more diverse selection of Indica dominant marijuana strains. According to their website they offer the following strains of Indica dominant marijuana strains:
  • Blueberry Haze
  • Juicy Fruit
  • White Queen
  • Bubba Chunk
  • Purple Trainwreck
  • Green Crack
  • Blue Cheese
  • Orange Mango Kush
  • Grape Skunk
  • Blueberry
  • Sensi Star
  • Bubba Kush
  • PEZ
  • Master Kush
  • Maui Blueberry
  • White Russian
  • Super Silver Haze
However, these strains and others must come and go, for when a member of my Medical Marijuana Review Crew asked the head caregiver at CAM for two half-eights of each of their two most potent sativa's and two half-eighths of the highest grade indica they have available at CAM, after careful consideration he suggested three Sativa dominant strains: NYC Diesel, Bio Diesel, and Durban, from the family of Durban Poison Marijuana Strains.

When it came to picking out the top Indica's, CAM's caregiver recommended the White Shark strain and the Juicy Fruit. My colleague also picked up two edibles, which he was told are the strongest, most potent edibles CAM has to offer. We are currently in the process of sampling, reviewing and rating Colorado Alternative Medicine's recommendations as well as several other strains and caregivers.

What's The Difference Between F1, F2, and F3 Weed Strain Seeds?

Just as with common flowers or other household plants (roses, pea plants, etc...), Cannabis seed strains can be grown and crossbred. This is usually done for the purpose of developing new breeds with different characteristics such as the size of the plant, yield, taste, effect, bud to leaf ratio, or other specific traits that the grower desires. As this cross breeding continues, the plants end up forming different weed strain seeds, or generations. These are often described as being either F1, F2, or F3. In order to really make some informed seed purchase decisions it is very helpful to understand the differences between these various seed strains. Photo by   Robert Nelson   on   Unsplash F1 Seeds: The First Breeding: An F1 seed variety is created by breeding together two pure strains. For example, a tall plant (represented with two dominant genes, AA) is bred with a small plant (represented by the two small recessive genes, aa). Since the resulting plants will each receive
