AK-47 Strain Review

AK-47 Marijuana Strain

AK-47 has been among one of the most popular strains of cannabis for both marijuana growers and users.  There are several reasons for the strains lasting popularity.  First of all, growers love the strain because AK-47 seeds are particularly easy to grow and yet still very strong.  Moreover, given AK-47 plants medium height, they produce ample yields in a relatively short period of time.  For a Sativa marijuana strain AK has a short flowering period.

Review of AK-47 Weed Stain

Because of the consistently quick yield of quality product it is now commonly commercially produced in large quantities and quite easy to come across.  For this reason, regardless of the high quality of AK many medical marijuana clinics offer significant discounts on AK-47.  The Herbal Center (THC), for instance, has an ongoing special of an eighth of an ounce (3.5 grams) of AK-47 for $35.

You don't have to take my word for the general esteem felt for AK-47.  In fact, the AK-47 strain has been recognized as the winner in eight well-know cannabis competitions.  In the 1999 High Times Cannabis Cup, for example, AK-47 was received second place for the Best Sativa, largely illustrating its attractiveness among smokers and growers alike.  In addition, while AK-47 is typically a largely sativa dominant cannabis strain, in the 2003 High Times Cannabis Cup, AK-47 won second prize in the indica category.

After flowering, if properly grown and cured, what AK-47 marijuana plants produce are somewhat compact buds with a noticeable coat of crystal resin and some, but not many protruding leaves.

AK-47 Smoke, Potency and High

AK-47 is a Very Strong Cannabis Strain with labs measuring THC levels to be around 20%+. This bud has strong hit on the hit; a dry yet smooth inhale out of an average glass pipe.  Almost immediately after exhaling this first his a long-lasting buzz, with a calm cerebral effect takes affect.  The AK-47 bud itself has a strong odor, as does the smoke as you put the buds in the air.  Following the exhale a fruity, tangy taste accompanies the use of AK-47.  As a sativa dominant hybrid with noticeable traces of indica, the high from using AK-47 can vary quite widely.  However it typically provides a good, not lazy, but mellow head high and a body buzz characterized by comfort.

AK-47 Medical Marijuana Qualities

For medical uses only under Amendment 20, MMJ doctors often prescribe the AK-47 cannabis strain to individuals suffering from pain, nausea, depression, insomnia, and headaches.  It is really an all around medicinal marijuana and is also commonly used for cramps and backaches.

Colorado Recreational Marijuana Dispensaries As of January 1st, 2014, the sale of recreational marijuana to anyone 21 and above is legal in Colorado.  Now that recreational marijuana is legal in Colorado, a handful of medical marijuana (MMJ) dispensaries now sell recreational pot to Colorado residents that don't have a MMJ license (AKA Red Card).

Even though it's legal under state law to buy recreational marijuana in Colorado without a MMJ card, a number of cities have voted to ban the sale of recreational marijuana. Below is a list of Colorado cities that have bans on recreational marijuana dispensaries.

What's The Difference Between F1, F2, and F3 Weed Strain Seeds?

Just as with common flowers or other household plants (roses, pea plants, etc...), Cannabis seed strains can be grown and crossbred. This is usually done for the purpose of developing new breeds with different characteristics such as the size of the plant, yield, taste, effect, bud to leaf ratio, or other specific traits that the grower desires. As this cross breeding continues, the plants end up forming different weed strain seeds, or generations. These are often described as being either F1, F2, or F3. In order to really make some informed seed purchase decisions it is very helpful to understand the differences between these various seed strains.

F1 Seeds: The First Breeding: An F1 seed variety is created by breeding together two pure strains. For example, a tall plant (represented with two dominant genes, AA) is bred with a small plant (represented by the two small recessive genes, aa). Since the resulting plants will each receive one gene from each parent, this will result in offs…
