MMJ Workers Turn To Colorado Unions The U.S. Justice Department has recently warned marijuana dispensaries and licensed growers in Colorado and other states with medical marijuana laws that they could face prosecution for violating federal drug and money-laundering laws. In response, medical marijuana in Colorado workers are turning to the union for support and believe if the members come together, they can come up with collective bargaining agreements proving medical marijuana is an essential part of the retail health care, agriculture and food processing industries. President Barack Obama again appeared live on You Tube to participate in a Question and Answer interview session yesterday, January 27, just two days after giving his 2011 State of the Union Address on Jan. 25th, and once again, the questions posed to President Barack Obama largely centered around cannabis in America and the use, legalization and taxation of medical marijuana in the U.S. According to The Huffington Post that of the first 200 highest-rated questions, 198 have to do with drug policy. Colorado Medical Marijuana Sales Tax Sees December Decline

Colorado medical marijuana related sales taxes saw a decline in December of 2010, despite being up by over 450% since 2009. Surprising to many, medical marijuana sales tax in Colorado ended on a down note.  Colorado Springs' city government, for instance, took in only $52,052 this December, compared to the $56,782 that the city government of Colorado Springs collected from medical marijuana related taxes in November.  This marks a decrease of $4,730 in medical marijuana related tax revenue for the city of Colorado Springs, the largest month-to-month decrease experienced in 2010. Nevertheless, the city government of Colorado Springs did manage to generate a considerable sum of  through the taxation of Colorado medical marijuana dispensaries, doctor referral agencies, cultivators, patients and other medical marijuana related businesses and purchases.  Such taxation of  medical marijuana in Colorado Springs earned the city government $488,382.  This is over 450% more than the 200
